The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled to find consistency at the quarterback position since Ben Roethlisberger walked away from the game.

After having a franchise player for so many years, someone who provided a lot of stability to the organization, the Steelers haven’t been able to recapture that magic.

They acquired Russell Wilson and Justin Fields ahead of the 2024 campaign, hoping that one of them would emerge as the best option, but even with some success from Wilson down the stretch, it wasn’t enough for the team to be confident in him as a long-term solution.

With that in mind, the Steelers came into the offseason looking for a new quarterback, and they were reportedly in on several of the top free agent options.

Unfortunately for them, they were unable to land any big names, and now they’re seemingly just left with Aaron Rodgers, who is taking his time making a decision.

Because of this, analyst Ross Tucker had some strong feelings about the situation, which he outlined in a recent segment of his podcast.

“I think the Steelers should strongly consider drafting a quarterabck in the first round, and I think they should move on from Aaron Rodgers,” Tucker said.

Tucker believes the Steelers should take themselves out of the Rodgers sweepstakes, if that even exists anymore, and focus their attention on some of the top prospects in this year’s draft class.

It might not be as deep of a draft as the past few have been, but if they can pick out the best option, the Steelers could find a young player worth taking a risk on.

Rodgers didn’t look like his MVP self in 2025 anyhow, so a fresh start could be the best option for this team in desperate need of some new life on offense.
